biography

I've been writing tunes since I was fourteen. I dunno why. Loving music and possibly boredom. When I first started learning the guitar I had a Beatles chord book and Oasis 'Definitely Maybe'. Then got into Radiohead and I think that really changed the way I saw songs. Probably didn't know that at the time. I think if I had to put my finger on one key influence it would be them. Along the way more folk influences and acoustic based artists have got me thinking, like Bob Dylan. Lyrics are always hard to write, I find, because I'm not interested in making things obvious. I normally just write about heartbreak…how very obvious!! I'm not trying to do anything special, I've just always loved writing songs and thought it might be nice to share them.

After the acoustic-bedroom vibe of 'Tongue Tied', we decided to go for more of a band feel with 'Changing Times' . The title track is the newest song on the EP and is very positive for me with kind of a reggae, summery feel. 'Ar Dan' means on fire in welsh if directly translated. The song started with that sort of break down bit then the rest came and fitted around it. I wrote 'Falling' on an organ when I was seventeen. I've changed some of the lyrics since but it's still abuot the same thing and vibe. 'Sink' is about a friend of mine who I was worried about due to his violent mood changes when drinking heavily. I really wanted to keep it simple and acoustic on the EP, it's a very simple song…
